I wanted this to be like a circus, but I had to be very careful because of branding. I was going to do Bertie Bassett, who is the man of the brand, but as my friend help me to draw it, she realised that it was probably best we didn’t do that! So I did a bowl instead and it looks like I’ve fallen over carrying the bowl! To make it interesting, I though I’d do a curtain like a stage, so that is why it’s called ‘Liquorice Curtain Call & Allsorts’. I also got quite annoyed that they didn’t have my favourite blue round liquorice allsorts, or the Catherine Wheels with the red centres! I felt very diddled out of my favourite sweets! I opened the bag with great gusto, expecting to eat these things as I painted, shouting “WHAT?!” and then I carried on anyway! Well, I guess they won’t be put back in the bag and I hope you all like it, just the way it is. I really enjoyed painting this and I didn’t eat any of them, promise (woo-hoo)!”
