I didn’t want to paint this for quite a long time. I don’t know why, but I had a mental block towards doing it. It isn’t very ‘me’ to do pale purple - maybe that’s what put me off! And then I had trouble trying to make things stand out. My favourite strawberry is bright green and blue with green spots. I was really excited to do orange and pale pink, but unfortunately the spots on the pale pink didn’t quite work. And then I had an absolute disaster and lost total heart - I spilt bright pink on the pale part of the picture! So I had to paint the edge of the painting light purple. And when my art teacher came back, she was very puzzled, which made me even more worried - so I suggested doing the sides light purple and the top and bottom dark purple - not realising that was the best thing I could have done for it!
